A list of the 150 properties attached by the Mumbai police's EOW in the NSEL scam case has been obtained by TOI. "Several of these attached properties were purchased by the defaulters with the money raised from the 13,000 NSEL depositors," said an EOW officer on condition of anonymity. Sources said at least two international consultants were approached to value the properties. 

In October 2013, the EOW carried out perhaps its biggest operation — 200 officers spread out across 17 cities and raided properties in 180 locations on just one day. In August this year, EOW filed a 9,360-page charge-sheet before the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors Act (MPID) court against NSEL promoter Jignesh Shah for his alleged role in the scam.
